The Bonasika Mining Project will produce high quality bauxite for ultra-high strength proppants and sintered bauxite products, and includes the development of the mine site, processing plant and supplementary facilities.

Guyana Industrial Minerals is determined to set the highest quality standards and benchmarks in the production of our globally superior quality washed non-metallurgical grade bauxite and constantly strive to achieve excellence through constant innovations, improvements and reviews of established quality control procedures and policies. Our aim is to maintain customers’ confidence in our ability to always deliver a consistently high-quality product.

We understand the significance of effective Quality Systems when supplying a product of such uniquely high quality to our customers in today’s highly competitive marketplace. Our Management Team is fully devoted to providing a superior product that fully complies with or exceeds the defined quality specifications and expectations of our valued customers through strict adherence to internationally recognized standards, quality control programs and procedures from exploration through to product delivery.

Mining at Guyana Industrial Mineral provides a safe, efficient and sustainable supply of high-quality bauxite ore to the onsite processing plant. On-going remediation of overburden stockpiles and completed mine areas is incorporated into the planning sequence for a complete life of mine plan that aims to minimise the operation’s impact.

The current 15-year life-of-mine extends over two free-dig surface mining pits, Bonasika 6 and Bonasika 7. Mining is currently active in the Bonasika 7 pit targeting near surface ore which is hauled by truck to the Bonasika Processing Plant. Scoping studies are underway to form the basis of further exploration and increased resources of high-quality bauxite ore.
